Football is the nation’s biggest female team participation sport with over 1.38m women and girls playing the game regularly according to the Football Association. In Carlisle the game is also popular among girls, but as with all junior and amateur sports, Crown Newlaithes FC relies on sponsorship from local businesses to fund team kits, travelling expenses and coaching. Thanks to Lloyd Honda’s sponsorship contribution, the Club’s Under 12s girls’ team now has new kit, helping to create the team spirit and pride on which community clubs depend.
As Lloyd Honda’s Sales Manager, Lee Palmer, said, “Honda always talks about “the power of dreams” and children’s sport epitomises that spirit. Crown Newlaithes FC is an impressive local club and it is great to see the commitment and enjoyment of the girls and the coaches. We, at Lloyd Honda, are proud to be able to give something back to our local community and to help more young girls get involved in sport.”
Crown Newlaithes FC coach, David Thompson, added: “It’s so encouraging to have the support of a respected local business like Lloyd Honda. Every penny the Club receives is well-spent and we are delighted to be able to give the younger girls the opportunity to create their own sporting dreams.”
